How Can We Help?

Find answers to common questions below. If you don't see what you need, email us directly.

Getting Started

Votional uses Sign in with Google. Tap "Sign In" on the welcome screen, choose your Google account, and you're in. No password to create or remember. Your notes are tied to your Google account and sync across devices.
Yes — the free tier lets you save up to 3 sermon notes per month, read 6 Bible translations (KJV, ASV, WEB, BSB, CEV, FBV), and try live transcription for 3 sessions per month.

Votional Plus ($7.99/month or $69.99/year) unlocks unlimited notes, unlimited live transcription, Deep Dive, Scripture Bites, all Bible translations, and Daily Bread devotionals generated from your own notes. A 7-day free trial is included.
Votional is available as an iOS app from the App Store and an Android app from Google Play. On Android, Votional is installed from the Google Play Store as a native app.

Live Transcription

Before recording, get permission, follow your church's policy, and comply with applicable law.
AI transcription and suggested Scripture links may be incomplete or inaccurate; review them against your notes and Bible.
Tap the microphone button on the Record screen to start a session. With permission, Votional can use Deepgram's speech-to-text engine to transcribe the message and suggest likely Scripture references for you to review. At the end, your transcript and reviewed notes can be saved together.
First, make sure Votional has microphone permission. On iPhone, open Settings → Apps → Votional → Microphone. On Android, open Settings → Apps → Votional → Permissions → Microphone. If permission is already enabled, fully close and reopen Votional.
Each time you tap the microphone to begin recording, that uses one session credit. Free accounts get 3 sessions per calendar month. Sessions reset at the start of each month. Plus subscribers have unlimited sessions.

Scripture Linking

As your transcript is generated, Votional scans for likely Bible reference patterns (for example, "John 3:16", "Romans 8", or "the Gospel of Mark chapter two"). Review each suggestion against the sermon and your Bible; confirmed references can open the passage in the built-in Bible reader. You can also tap the Enhance button after recording to look for possible implicit references.
The free tier includes 6 public-domain translations: KJV, ASV, WEB, BSB, CEV, and FBV.

Plus unlocks additional licensed translations including ESV, NIV, NASB, NLT, CSB, and more. Switch translations any time in the Bible reader or in Preferences.

Daily Bread & Study Features

Daily Bread is a 7-day devotional plan generated personally for you from your own sermon notes. Each day includes a reflection, a scripture, a prayer, and a brief application — all drawn from what you actually heard on Sunday. It bridges the Sunday-to-Monday gap by weaving the sermon into your week.
Scripture Bites (found in the Gems tab) are flashcard-style review cards extracted from your sermon notes and transcripts. Each card highlights a key verse or insight for quick review. Swipe through them during the week to reinforce what you heard. Plus subscribers can generate new Bites directly from any note.
After a sermon is recorded, the Deep Dive tab generates key themes, study questions, a mind map of connected concepts, and a summary — all from your transcript. It's designed to help you go deeper in 60 seconds rather than spending hours re-reading notes.

Subscription & Billing

In Votional, open Subscription and choose Monthly or Annual. In the iOS app, the App Store handles billing; in the Android app, Google Play handles billing. The store checkout shows the price, trial length, and renewal terms before you confirm; trial eligibility and length can vary by plan or offer.
Open Votional on the platform where you subscribed, then select Subscription and Manage Subscription from your account avatar. iOS subscriptions open App Store subscription management, and Android subscriptions open Google Play subscription management. If you have an existing Votional-managed Stripe subscription, manage it in Votional's Stripe billing portal. Cancel with the billing provider that charged you; your Plus access remains active until the end of the current billing period.
Yes. Tap your account avatar → Subscription → Manage Subscription, then switch to annual when that option is available for your billing method. The change takes effect at your next renewal date.
This is usually a sync delay. Try signing out and back in via Preferences → Sign Out. If the issue persists after 10 minutes, email support@votional.com with the email address on your account and a screenshot of your receipt — we'll sort it out immediately.

Account & Data

Open any note and tap the Export button (share icon) to download it as a PDF or copy it to your clipboard. You can also share a verse card directly from the scripture view.
Votional needs an internet connection for sign-in, live transcription, AI insights, Daily Bread generation, and syncing. Previously opened content may remain visible briefly, but offline access is not guaranteed.
Go to Preferences → Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps. Deleting your account permanently removes all your notes, transcripts, and personal data from our servers. Any active subscription will be cancelled automatically. This action cannot be undone. You can also visit votional.com/delete-account directly.
Yes. Your notes and transcripts are stored on a secure Railway server and are never shared with third parties for advertising. Audio is processed in real time and is not stored after transcription. Requested study features transmit only text, not audio. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
